INSTRUCTIONS FOR WINDOWS

The first thing to find out is which OneDrive client(s) you have running. There are actually two OneDrive for Business sync clients. The existing OneDrive for Business sync client or the new OneDrive for Business Next Generation Sync Client. For those with Office 365 accounts you want the Next Generation Sync Client. Here’s how to tell what you have:

INSTRUCTIONS FOR iPad USERS:

The old OneDrive for Business app will be taken out of the app store in a couple weeks. If you have this version you should uninstall it and download the new all in one OneDrive App from the app store (NOT THE ONEDRIVE FOR BUSINESS APP):

Link for the right app: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/skydrive/id4775379…

How to use the new app: https://support.office.com/en-US/article/Use-OneDr…

If you already had the new app and are experiencing sync issues you should try these steps:

1. Clear the Cache

Open the app, tap the person icon Person icon in OneDrive app for iOS at the top of the screen, tap the Information icon Information icon in the OneDrive app for iOS next to the account you want to clear the cache for and clear the cache

2. Sign out of accounts

To sign out of a personal OneDrive account or a OneDrive for Business account, open the app, tap the person icon Person icon in OneDrive app for iOS at the top of the screen, tap the Information icon Information icon in the OneDrive app for iOS next to the account you want to sign out of, and then tap Sign Out of This Account.

2. Uninstall and re-install app

  1. Un-install OneDrive app by pressing and holding the app icon until an x appears. Click the x to uninstall.
  2. Perform soft reset
  3. Press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons simultaneously for at least 10 seconds, until you see the Apple logo. You can let go of both buttons after the Apple logo appears.
  4. Install OneDrive app via App Store.
  5. Make sure that OneDrive is enabled here: Settings General Background App Refresh.

I also advise to try enabling location services for OneDrive app, especially if it’s the case of background sync. You can turn Location Services on or off at Settings Privacy Location Services.
